Wool Yarn: A Canvas of Endless Possibilities

There is something truly magical about working with wool yarn.  When I first planned Goldenrod Primitives I knew I wanted to use tools, threads, and textiles that would play a significant role in shaping my designs.  There is a unique sense of coziness and comfort when working with wool. One of the most exciting aspects of working with wool yarn is the range of possibilities it offers.  From chunky blankets to warm rugs on a cold floor, the feeling of wool is unique to each artist using it to shape a final creation. Besides the final product itself, crafting with wool yarn is an adventure in itself.

Knowing that the wool I work with is organic, biodegradable, and connects me to centuries of craft tradition makes the craft even more meaningful. Using wool yarn puts me on a creative journey filled with memories of living in cold, northern winters snuggling under the warmth of wool blankets and the beauty of wool sweaters my mother bought for us while living in Canada. As a matter of fact, the wool I use has been milled in the oldest woolen mill in Canada, Briggs and Little located in York Mills, New Brunswick, Canada. Maritime Family Fiber imports the wool to southern Maine to make it much easier to find in the US.   I love working with family-owned businesses. We help each other succeed.
